PURPOSE OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN:
The organized unit of United Methodist Women
shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to
experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop
a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission
through participation in the global ministries of the church.
All women are invited to be a part of United
Methodist Women at Franklin First United Methodist Church.
There are four circles of women can choose to be a part of.
- The Lydia Circle
meets on the third Tuesday evening of every month at 7:00 p.m.
The Circle meets in the homes of members. For more
information about this circle, contact Connie Turvey, 790-9369.
- The Mary-Martha
Circle meets on the second Sunday of every month in
Room B-101. The circle meets at 2:00 p.m. For more
information about this circle, contact Dot Ginn, 599-9805.
- The Sewing
Circle meets every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in
the kitchen of the Historic Sanctuary building. For more
information about this circle, contact Barbara McLellan,
599-2546.
- The Susanna
Circle meets on the second Friday of every month from
9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Koinonia classroom. For more
information about this circle, contact Rebecca Neff, 302-3099.
Circles
choose books and studies to read and discuss.
They participate in mission projects and services both locally and
globally.
All four
circles come together for mission studies, meetings,
and annual luncheons and get-togethers. |
