Local Volunteers in Mission at
work! Bill & Catherine Farmer Wheel Chair Ramp
It was reported to FUMC / VIM that
the wheel chair ramp being used by the Farmers, Bill and
Catherine was unsafe. Bill has been confined to a wheel chair
for about the past fifteen years with Catherine being his
primary care giver. The fall on a wheel chair ramp is supposed
to be one inch for each foot of drop from the beginning height.
This ramp needed to be 16 feet long. The one being used was only
10 feet long making it too steep and unsafe.
It was decided that the Franklin FUMC / VIM would install a new
ramp for the Farmers. The men listed below got together with
the leadership of John Oxley to install the new ramp. Most of
the work was done on Friday and Saturday May 30th –
31st. The ramp was completed on June 2nd
with the final touches finished on that day.
Bill and Catherine wish to thank FUMC and the
VIM for this new ramp. Catherine says the Wheel Chair Ramp is a
blessing for them.
The Project was completed with the help from
