If you are unable to attend one of these, there will be a at a Town Hall meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a second Town Hall meeting on Sunday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Your family may sign up for the Vision Gatherings at one of our worship services on Sunday, March 7 or Sunday, March 14.

Let me encourage your attendance at one of these meetings. There you will learn more about our North Campus development plans and our Imagine: God’s Vision, Our Future campaign. We will discuss the importance of church-wide prayer during this crucial time, and we will share information about our church and its ministry. No financial commitments will be asked for or received at these meetings.

I strongly encourage you to attend one of these Vision Gatherings as an example of your support. Your attendance will also encourage others. Please make the necessary arrangements to attend. I am counting on you.

“Light in the Nations,” which is the neighborhood outreach ministry we share with 61st Avenue UMC, has a half work day on April 17 from 8:30 – 12:00 pm to remove the plastic from the homes of seniors where we did winterization in the fall. The Lay Leadership Mission-Vision Outcome Team is hosting a leadership conference in 2010 on April 10 and September 25. The purpose is to give our committee and team leaders an opportunity to receive inspiration, helpful ideas and great teaching from some of the best resources we have available. Many of these resources will be from speakers at national ministry conferences. You will have time to brainstorm and discuss ways to keep your committees and teams inspired and how this teaching applies to your work in the church. We appreciate what you give to the church in time and talent. This is one way we can support and encourage your growth as spiritual leaders. All committee and team leaders are invited as well as anyone in the church who desires to grow in their leadership gift. Click here to register online.

The new Basic Course will be taught by retired Clergy Art Robbins and the Advanced course will be conducted by Rev, Gary Wedgwood. The Advanced course :  Lay Pastoral Care Giving …  asks this question :”How do we learn to care for others in the community- whether the community of faith or the extended community?  Some people seem to have natural gifts, but most of us can learn to improve our caring skills.  Lay Pastoral Care Giving offers insights into the life span and into the dynamics of contemporary life to help church leaders reach out with God’s love and care to others.
