A Foundation for Endowments, Missions, Music, Youth, Children, and Capital Trust to provide for the continuing ministry of our church for generations to come.

Franklin First United Methodist Church Foundation was established in October 1996 to ensure that our church’s ministries continue to grow. The Foundation is operated as a separate board, which is managed by a board of directors under the exclusive control of the Trustees. The board of directors is made up of six members plus the current chair of the Trustees. Each board member serves a six-year term with one member being replaced each year. The funds of the Foundation are invested and managed in accordance with the investment policies and guidelines recommended by the General Council of Finance and Administration of the United Methodist Church.

As our permanent endowments grow, the income will enable our church to expand its work in the mission field, education programs, and service to our members and community. FRANKLIN FIRST UNITED METHODIST FOUNDATION 2009

The Franklin FUMC Foundation provides funds from realized gains/earnings each year to the ministry areas that have endowments or trusts. These funds are used for unbudgeted needs. During 2009 the following projects were funded:

Capital Trust for uses approved by the Board of Trustees

  • North Campus Tractor $29,400
  • Historic Sanctuary Repairs $ 15,951
  • Total Trustees $ 45,351

Children’s Endowment for the use of the Children’s Ministry Area

  • Sunday School Equip, Furniture, Banners $ 2,461
  • Total Children $ 2,461

Youth Endowment for the use of the Youth Ministry Area

  • Portable Projector & Screen $ 1,145
  • Total Youth $ 1,145

The Franklin First United Methodist Church Foundation is funded from gifts given in memory or honor of someone or a group, or a gift designated for a certain endowment or trust, or a bequest in a will. Through the generosity of our congregation and friends, our Foundation has grown to over $1 million in investments. Gifts can be directed to the Missions Endowment, Music Endowment, Children’s Endowment, Youth Endowment, or the Capital Trust Fund.
