How To Join

Ready to Join Franklin First UMC?

We hold a Newcomers lunch and orientation session monthly for those who are interested in joining the church. During the lunch our ministry staff shares the mission and vision of the church while describing how we live out our church membership vows. Contact Mark Coursey, Minister of Evangelism in the church office at 794-2734, ext. 103, mcoursey@franklinfumc.org, on how to sign-up or check “wish to join” on the weekly registration pad during worship. Every potential member must attend one Newcomers Lunch & Orientation Session.

*This program is offered at 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Childcare is available and a separate program is offered to children ages four and up.

Vows of Church Membership

The vows of membership in the United Methodist Church are

  • To be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries;
  • To faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness.

Specific information is offered about the United Methodist Church online at www.umc.org or you may make an appointment to meet with one of our pastors. Additionally, a class on United Methodism is offered twice per year on Sunday mornings for four weeks. This class provides specific information about the history, theology, structure & organization of the United Methodist Church. Please check the website or call the church office to find out when this class is offered.

You may become a member of Franklin First UMC by:

  1. Transfer of Letter from another United Methodist Church or Christian denomination.
  2. Profession of Faith in Jesus Christ.
  3. Reaffirmation of Faith in Jesus Christ.

One of our pastors will be happy to meet with you about options for joining our church.
