What To Expect

We know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming at times. Hopefully the answers to the questions below will help you have a great first experience at Franklin First UMC.

Do you have a Welcome and Information Center?
Yes! Friendly greeters will be on hand from 8:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the lobby of Sanctuary East and in our Fellowship Hall to answer any questions you may have about us. Just look for someone wearing a red vest!

When are your worship services?
Franklin First UMC offers four worship services on Sunday mornings. A traditional worship service is held at both 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the Historic Sanctuary and a Blended worship service is held at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in Sanctuary East.

Where are you located?
Franklin First UMC is located in downtown Franklin on two sides of the street! Our Historic Sanctuary, where our two traditional services are held, is located on the triangular lot across from the post office one block from Five Points. Sanctuary East, where we hold our two blended worship services, is located in the Education & Activities Building in front of the main parking lot. Click to get directions for an online map.

What do I wear?
Franklin First UMC is diverse in both age and style. Whether you show up very casual or in a suit, our focus is on worshiping Christ and growing as disciples, not on what you are wearing. We encourage you to dress in a way that you are comfortable and not distracted by appearance, so that you are able to worship and be in Bible study with the attention and focus on honoring God.

Where do I park?
Franklin First UMC has designated parking spots available for visitors. Please enter the large parking lot off Fourth Avenue and look for the visitors parking signs in the front part of our lot. If you arrive and the parking lot is full, please park along the street or in the parking garage across the street next to the courthouse (across from Puckett’s.)

Do you have a nursery?
Yes, Franklin First UMC has a fully staffed nursery, which is available for children newborn through three years of age. The nursery is located on the first floor of the education building in room A-105. Visit our nursery link for more information.

What about Sunday School?
Our church has two full Sunday schools for children ages two and up, youth 7th-12th grades and for all adults. Sunday School is held at both 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Please check our Sunday School web page for additional information.

Do you have Fellowship Time?
During the 30 minutes between services, we all gather in the Fellowship hall for coffee, snacks and visitation. Please stop by and join us!
