Older Adults Ministry
Our stated purpose and mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ: to nurture faith, build Christian community and equip seniors for faithful living and service. This ministry is by, for and with ages 55 and above – the Go Go’s, Slow Go’s and No-Go’s, emphasizing Spirituality, Enrichment, Nutrition/Wellness, Intergenerational, Outreach, Recreation, Service.
Specific Programs Offered
Fellowship Primetimers Dinner:
Dinner is provided the second Tuesday evening of each month, 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at a cost of $6.00 per person. Reservations are required by Monday noon preceding the event by calling the church office. Various programs are planned for entertainment, information, inspiration and fellowship. Primetimers Trips:
These day trips are planned to places of interest around the Franklin/Nashville area and usually include a meal together at a restaurant. Transportation is provided by the use of one of our church buses. Cost can vary based on the event and distance of travel. For further information contact the church office.

Crutch Cupboard
This is a collection of home health care equipment, such as crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, walking canes, bathroom assistive devices, that has been donated and is available for use on a temporary basis by contacting the church office. Anyone may contribute more equipment or check out items to use by contacting the church office.
Blood Pressure Screening
As part of our Wellness Program, blood pressure screening is available each Sunday during Fellowship Time, 10-10:30 a.m. and Wednesday evening when dinner is served, 5:30-6:00 p.m. There are qualified health-care providers available to do the screening. The location for blood pressure screening is on the first floor near the Fellowship Hall, across the hall from the kitchen. For additional information contact the church office.
Information and Support Groups
Care Notes
Care Notes is a series of brochures giving helpful information on subjects such as grief, anxiety, depression, and a variety of subjects many people experience in living alone or dealing with illness. These pamphlets are available to anyone and may be found in a rack in the Narthex at Sanctuary East. Questions or requests, contact the church office.
Exercise Class
An exercise class for senior adults meets each Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 a.m. for one hour in Sanctuary East. For additional information call the church office.

- Transportation to Sunday Worship Services and for Primetimers activities
- “First Friends” Ministry to homebound or persons limited in ability to fully participate in church activities.
- Willing Hands Ministry – Need a ride to the doctor, a chore done, or a meal, call the church office.
Southeastern Older Adult Conference

Theme: “Reaching Up, Reaching Out – Our Call to Spirituality and Mission”
This event is designed for any interested persons 55 years of age or older and for persons working with older adult ministries in their congregation. The conference mission is to enrich the lives of older adults, affirming the graces, gifts, and wisdom born of experiences that older adults bring to ministry within the church world. Participants will experience worship, inspiring Bible study, informative keynote addresses, engaging workshops on issues of older adulthood, and networking & fellowship with others across the southeast.
