Local
The Missions and Outreach Committee has undertaken the responsibility of identifying mission activities within the community and around the world. Committee members serve as liaisons between the organizations they represent and community agencies. We welcome your participation in those areas where you feel called to be in service to God’s people.
James 1:22 instructs us “to be doers of the word, and not merely hearers of the word.” The congregation of Franklin First UMC is heavily involved in mission outreach in the local community as well as throughout the world. Ministries include: Meals on Wheels, Room in the Inn, Habitat for Humanity, Graceworks, Great Day of Service, short term mission trips to the Gulf Coast and VIM teams to Guatemala, youth mission trips and many others.
If you are actively involved in these or other ministries and would like to participate with Local Outreach, contact Katie Burt, (615) 794-8524.
