Habitat for Humanity Partner Family
Franklin First UMC and other local churches volunteered to help build a house for the following family.
Kathy Baird
Kathy Baird was born and raised in Louisville, KY, the youngest daughter of eight children. After graduating from high school Kathy stayed at home for a few years to help care for her mother. She eventually moved to Arlington, Texas where she worked at 3M Corporation in several departments. After 3M shut down, Kathy worked at different places until eventually moving to Fairview in 2001 where one of her sisters lived.
For the past six years Kathy has worked for Williamson County Schools in the special education department. She also works for Williamson County Parks and Recreation. She really enjoys working with young children. She keeps the nursery at the Fairview Recreation Center.
Kathy is an active member at Meeting Place Church of Fairview, a spirit-filled church where she enjoys the praise and worship music. She is fond of the closeness of the small congregation.
Kathy likes to travel. One of her favorite places is the Grand Canyon. Another favorite memory of her travels is seeing the passion play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She enjoys going out to plays and other live performances.
Having a Habitat home is a lifelong dream for her and she greatly appreciates all of the churches who have partnered to fund her home. She looks forward to meeting all of the volunteers. Kathy has patiently waited on God’s plan for her to have a home in Fairview where she is surrounded by friends and is close to work and church. She can’t wait to have a yard with flowers and a large front porch to sit and enjoy them.
